    The Old & New Wine World United at Schneekarhütte

    Aloisia Bair, innkeeper and sommelier, was a pioneer when she built the first wine cellar in the Austrian Alps. Though initially met with skepticism, her passion for wine has inspired many. This love of wine has been passed down to her daughter, Philomena, and is shared by head waiter Floris.

    Together, they form a sommelier trio, each with their own specialty, enabling them to provide highly personalized and exceptional wine recommendations.

    Aloisia Bair was a pioneer when she opened a ski hut with wine service. What was once considered unusual is now the industry standard. The Bair family, renowned sommeliers, set themselves apart by focusing on organic wines from Austria, South Tyrol, and France.

    Their commitment to quality is evident in their biennial wine tours, where they personally select the wines for their cellar. One of the absolute Highlights for Aloisia is the passion for Champagne.

    We believe that true quality could lie with some beyond well-known labels and offer our guests a chance to experience the nuances of exceptional, maybe ‘unknown’ Champagne.
