    How to get to Schneekarhütte

    The breathtaking and expressive view from the Schneekarhütte in Tyrol-Austria offers so much. Its exposed location ensures a panoramic view and makes winter sports enthusiasts’ hearts race. Find out how to reach us on the best way from the recommended,
    horberg gondola station.  

    Transportation Options:

    Ticket Purchase:

    • Non-Skier Ticket

      Hotel guests: If you purchase a ski pass for the following day on the day of your arrival (from 3 pm onwards), you are permitted to travel to the Schneekarhütte & off on departure day until 10AM

    SKI GEAR RESERVATION

    Hotel guests: Luggage Information

    • Duration of Stay – less or more than 2 nights
      We suggest packing light and bringing a backpack. If you need to bring more stuff, we offer a luggage service. Just a heads up: if your suitcase weigh more than 17 kg and you’re staying less than 2 nights, there might be an extra charge for the luggage transfer. We also offer luggage shuttle service from a vally hotel to Schneekarhütte, extra charged.
    • Named Paper Tag on your luggage
      Please mark your luggage with a ‘Schneekar’ paper tag. This will help the logistic team identify your belongings more quickly.
    • Arrival by Backpack 
      Of course, you are welcome to deposit your backpack with us as early as the morning of your arrival.
    • Baggage Delivery
      Deliveries will be made between 4PM and 6:30PM after business hours. If you require any urgent items, please pack them in a backpack.

    Ski Equipment Information

    • Travelling without Ski Gear
      We recommend renting your ski equipment from ‘Sport Fankhauser’ at the Horbergbahn mountain station. This way, you don’t have to carry your equipment on the gondola and can pick it up conveniently at the mountain. We also suggest pre-booking your equipment online. 
    • Arrival with your own Ski Gear
      We recommend changing into your ski gear right after parking, so you don’t have to carry heavy bags on the gondola. You can start skiing as soon as you reach the mountain.

    Individual Pick-Up

    If you are a hotel guest or have booked an exclusive activity with us, we can arrange a personalized pick-up for you. Please note that we require at least one week’s notice to organize this service, because of the availabilities of the needed vehicles.

     

    Complete Pick-Up Service: 
    Park your car for free at the Horbergbahn in Schwendau. We will pick you up by taxi and take you up the mountain. A transfer to a snowcat at approx. 1,400 meters is required. The snowcat will take you directly to the Schneekarhütte. Depending on the departure time, after 9.30PM there could be ‘extra-night-shift’ costs. 
    Cost Snowcat: approx. €230 (up to 12 ppl.)
    Cost Taxi Transfer: approx. € 25 (per person)
    Journey time: approx. 45 min.

     

    Partial Pick-Up Service: 
    If you can make it to the Horbergbahn gondola before 4:45 pm, you can access the mountain ski area. We can pick you up at the Horbergbahn mountain station with a snowcat and take you to the hut.
    Cost: approx €230 (up to 12 ppl.)
    Journey time: approx. 30 min.

    We can also be reached from Mayrhofen (Penkenbahn) or Finkenberg (Finkenberger Almbahnen). Please note that the Horbergbahn and Möslbahn (Schwendberg) are the closest. For specific requests, please contact us directly.

    Hotel guests: We do offer, on special request, a limited private parking directly in the ski area, accessable only by 4×4 wheel drive.
